Preferred questionnaire formats for the iedex 360 tool - Capabilities, Attributes and Behaviours (CAB)iedex applies the best practice "3 tier" 360 diagnostic design process incorporating Capabilities-Attributes-Behaviours (CAB). The system is designed to allow you to choose a structure for the 360 diagnostic that best suits YOU (not the software). Capability (Tier 1): The competence or ability the person should display. Attribute (Tier 2): The elements of the capability (capabilities are made up of attributes). Behaviour (Tier 3): Self explanatory. Behaviours are the specific means of assessing the attribute. The iedex system will allow you to choose the number of Capabilities, Attributes and Behaviours that you want in the diagnostic - see the two examples below.
In EXAMPLE 1 "leadership" is the only Capability being assessed, with six (6) Attributes. In EXAMPLE 2 "leadership" is one of three Capabilities and is more narrowly defined by two (2) Attributes. Two other Capabilities have been added to the 360 feedback diagnostic, "Relationship Management" and "Change Management". In BOTH CASES there are six (6) Attributes and some of the behaviours are shared ("Energy" and "Communication"). In this way you can customise the 360 feedback instrument to suit your particular purposes:
The only limitation is that you must have at least one Capability, even if you call it "Our Behaviours"! For a typical example of a complete questionnaire containing Capabilities-Attributes-Behaviours, follow the link below. |
